Marc-André talks about ImpressCMS and Microsoft Web App Gallery

A few weeks ago, ImpressCMS was included to Microsoft Web App Gallery. This was a great news for the project as it can now be downloaded and installed automatically with only a few clicks on a Windows Server.

Back in May of this year, Marc-André attended Make Web Not War, Canada’s first cross-plateform web conference showcasing the latest techniques and technologies available to the ever-evolving web community. During that conference, Marc-André explained how ImpressCMS came to be included in Microsoft Web App Gallery (also called Web PI).

The all new is live !

After 2 weeks of hard work, transfering 202 photo galleries, 3503 photos and 76 posts, we are live! An all new site, fully powered by WordPress, a beautiful theme by Themocracy, a nice header done by INBOX designer Ana Mejia and a lot of assistance from INBOX SysAdmin and WordPress evangelist James Morris, gets a brand new life!

We started this site back in 2003, nearly 7 years ago! Along the years, the site was powered by XOOPS, then by ImpressCMS and now by WordPress. Why the change ? Well, our site is fundamentally a blog. And what is the number one tool for blog ? Without a doubt, it’s WordPress! So why think of anything else ?

So here we go, our new site is up and running and we will continue to publish blog posts and photos, for the pleasure of our family, our friends, our colleagues, and, what the hell, for the whole world !!

Oh and by the way, we are introducing a new feature on the site: The NotreVie Newsletter! This is a monthly newsletter, sent by email, containing the latest updates from the our site. Care to stay informed ? Sign up now!

So, until next time (probably tomorrow ;-))…

ImpressCMS 1.1 Final is out, now what ?

As published on my blog at

Wow! Did we worked hard for this release ! We released the first alpha version of ImpressCMS 1.1 nearly 4 months ago and after intensive development, testing and debugging, the latest stable release of our award winning Community Management System is finally out!

Ok, so now we can relax and rest for the next couple of months ? Hell no! ImpressCMS 1.1 Final is indeed our most impressive release so far, but trust me, “You ain’t seen nothing yet !”

Starting this Monday, we will be hard at work finishing the roadmap for the up coming 1.2 release. If 1.1 was all about adding the features, security layers and nice goodies that should have been in there 2 years ago, 1.2 will be all about optimisation and user experience! But don’t worry, we still reserve you a few nice features along the way which you have now come to expect in your favorite CMS!
